So Delicious Yogourt Banana Split

Yogurt banana splits are perfect for breakfast. Not to mention how quick this they are to make. This quick, easy breakfast takes a dessert classic and lightens it up for the morning with ultra-creamy Greek yogurt and a warm drizzle of jam. You can simply cook Yogourt Banana Split in 11 ingredients and just 8 steps. Here is cooking guidance how you can easily do that.

1 Take 1 of banana.
2 Approximately 3 teaspoons of + 3 tablespoons ground cinnamon.
3 Prepare 3 teaspoons of ground flaxseed.
4 It’s 4 of walnuts.
5 About of Vanilla greek yogourt.
6 It’s 3 tablespoons of lemon juice.
7 You need 1/2 cup of frozen (or fresh) strawberries.
8 Prepare 1/2 cup of frozen (or fresh) blueberries.
9 Prepare 1/2 cup of frozen (or fresh) pitted cherries.
10 Take 1 1/2 cup of water.
11 It’s 3 tablespoons of coconut (or brown) sugar.

No, there's no ice cream involved. (Ice cream for breakfast — that seems best saved for birthdays, eh?) To make this banana split, you pile scoops of thick Greek yogurt on top of a ripe banana, then drizzle. When fresh cherries are in season, be sure to top off your special banana split with a couple. We even enjoy these for breakfast, adding a heaping spoonful of grain-free granola on top. Feel free to change-up the fruit, depending on your tastes and what's in season.

Cooking Step by Step

Step 1 To make the sauces, start with three small individual saucepans. Add 1/2 cup water to each saucepan, and then let the water boil..
Step 2 Once the water is boiling, add 1/2 cup cherries to one saucepan, 1/2 cup strawberries to another, and 1/2 blueberries to the last one. Add 1tbsp of lemon juice, 1tbsp cinnamon, and 1tbsp coconut sugar to each saucepan. Stir together..
Step 3 Let the mixture in the saucepans boil. Stir occasionally with a spoon..
Step 4 After about 5-7 minutes, test the berries out by touching them with your spoon. If they are much softer and mushier than in their normal state, you may proceed to pop them. Continuously squish them with your spoon until they have all (or mostly all) bursted. Since the strawberries aren't a round berry, they won't exactly be "bursted", but they'll instead be turned to mush. Once done, remove the saucepans from heat..
Step 5 Find a dish that's long enough to fit a banana inside of it and tall enough to have a banana lean against it. I used a rectangular plastic container..
Step 6 Start by cutting off the ends of the unpeeled banana. Next, slice the unpeeled banana in half. Take off the peel of each banana half as gently as possible, being careful not to break the banana. Gently place the banana halves against the long walls of the dish, one on each side..
Step 7 Spoon one row of three globs of vanilla greek yogourt in between the two banana halves. Try to make these globs of yogourt as round as you can. Since yogourt is not ice cream, this may require some serious ninja skills..
Step 8 Pour a different berry sauce onto each individual glob of yogourt. Top each sauced glob with 1tsp ground cinnamon and 1tsp ground flaxseed. Place a walnut in each corner of the middle glob of yogourt. Et voilà! It is finished..

Enjoy a healthy breakfast banana split ~frozen yogurt, fruit, granola, what could be a better way to start your day?. Update~ I've modified this recipe just a bit to make it even easier to prepare. I originally made this recipe with frozen strawberry yogurt, but we've found that using the strawberry yogurt without freezing it is much faster and just as delicious. These parfaits are made with protein-packed yogurt and make for a satisfying dessert. Add granola for a yummy breakfast.
